Holy Wolverine Berserker Rage! This 7" is some of the most insane, tightly knitted music I've ever listened to. The 7" is so good, it'll make you dump a load in your drawls, fool. Trustkill just seems not to put out anything that isn't good... I mean with new Poison the Well coming out and the Racetraitor/Burn It Down split, where have they ever gone wrong? It's almost too scary! The point is pick up this damn 7" if you see it because it will not be there next time. It's a limited 7" so don't turn this down. "If you're not going to ride the rocket, then get the fuck off!".
Yet another great release by these guys from Huntington Beach. This 7” was put out on Trustkill Records not long ago, and it picks up right where they left off with their last cd. Slow breakdowns, growling vocals, off-timed complex beats. They might just be the best hardcore band in California right now. ”If you’re not gonna ride the rocket, get the fuck off!”
Here we have three stinkin' heavy songs from this California hardcore/metal band. these are good songs with some great breakdowns that get all the kiddies dancing. Also, if you ever get a chance to see this band live you really should. They put on a great show. This sucker is limited to 2000 copies, so if you want it you should get it while you still can.
Brutal! This might be called hardcore, but it sounds like grind to me! There really is a grind feel with metallic hardcore overtones at best, and even a rare death metal riff here and there! Everything is done in moderation with tasteful chaotic moments giving in to powerful breaks. A lot of vocal styles present themselves; be it talking, low growls, or the throat full of glass styled screams. The lyrics are semi-cryptic and poetically evil, definitely intriguing. The slightly muddy production is a set back, but not a hindrance of the unrelenting fury these guys kick out. This a mysterious release all around, something about it... The style is definitely comparable to other well known bands, but Eighteen Visions have enough of an edge to gain acknowledgement. The first thing I noticed when I opened the sleeve was the singer sporting a Motley Crue "Dr. Feelgood" shirt and that was all it took for this to be a keeper! The artwork and layout are tight, and the band's logo is unusually excellent. Interesting music with solid visuals to boot. Look out for it... it's limited edition so grab one while you can.
This kind of stuff has never really yanked my crank. I remember thinking i was into deicide in the 7th grade for about a week, then i realized how silly it was. With these guys i hear a little more coalesce and dillinger than their contemporaries though. You know what i'm talking about when i say orangecountyhardcorevegansxe right? rich white kids, pointy guitar bands, everybody fucking the same 3 sluts in hoodies, geek hangout night at taco loco, and more macings than you can shake a stick at. Yet, i kinda get a slightly different vibe from these guys. I get more of a "we don't give a fuck" vibe and an unpinpointed element that seems a bit distanced from the rest of the wack ocsxe scene. I dunno, maybe i'm wrong? the lyrics here seem a bit well thought out and not so quite run of the mill actually. From what i gather, these guys like to stir up shit and make waves. I like that. More power to them if that's the case.
This is just crazy hardcore. I can just imagine the crowd after their concerts getting together and causing a big violent festival. This vegan straightedge band has the sound that is needed in the scene. This sound is only coming from the West Coast. These guys are just a fury of metalcore. An attack of fast paced music with yelling. It can be compared to little.
All hail Eighteen Visions! This 7" is totally rad. Fucking heavy as fuck metal/hardcore. The lyrics are weird, but interesting. The songs are so good. Get this right away.
Thank the gods below for this band. They can do no wrong, and this record is living proof. Three new songs of just unrelentlessly punishing hardcore covered in metal, with fantastic breaks, and James' fucking amazing voice. The things that he can pull off are incredible. This band has it all, and they are gonna go really, really far, and then some. Don't be surprised to see a Machine Head/Eighteen Visions tour by 2001...yes, this band is that good. If you don't have this yet, then I don't know what you are waiting for, cause "if you're not gonna ride the rocket, then get the fuck off!"
